Who here (laptop owners) actually use their PCMCIA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCMCIA) slot, either PC Card or ExpressCard, for anything? I have one computer that uses it for WiFi, but I have never used it on any of the other laptops in my house.

not really since my laptop already has most of the features it needs. I have considered getting a TV tuner card to pop in there but since it is on the move so often I don't think I would ever get around to hooking it up.

I have an old laptop that doesn't have built in Ethernet, so I have to use a PCMCIA-Ethernet adapter. Very useful, but I can't see why I would need it on a newer computer.

I have no use for mine at the moment. My laptop has more than some desktops, and I don't have a use for the slot. Perhaps I will find a use for it, I hate to leave potential new hardware out of my life.

I have a Wifi card in one laptop and I often use a Compact Flash reader (as CF IS basically PCCard).

Since USB2 came along, there is less need for this interface now.

Time for an e-sata raid (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/addonics-cardbus-adapter,1363.html) set-up then?

Or use cardbus cards on a desktop with one of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Elan-USB-Cardbus-Card-Adapter_W0QQitemZ140217624700QQihZ004QQcategoryZ42 323QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD10VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid= p1638.m127)

I use it for wireless on my old laptop. The most common use I'd imagine.
