Well after installation x3 on my MBP 2.4 C2D Penry I got a stable Heron. Getting the Wifi to work is a bear!
Question:
After Installing the bcmwl5 via ndiswrapper can not seem to load the wlan0

a1234@a1234-laptop:~$ sudo -s
[sudo] password for a1234:
root@a1234-laptop:~# ndiswrapper -l

root@a1234-laptop:~# /etc/init.d/networking restart

I have done the following:

gedit /etc/modules for ndiswrapper

root@a1234-laptop:~# lsmod | grep ndiswrapper
ndiswrapper 193564 0

Why is wlan0 not loading ?

Any suggestion ?

Looks like no solution to this problem ? Any thing else I can do please let me know.
Again /etc/network/interfaces :
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp

So should'nt it automatically load.

Is it the driver issue or the kernel issue.

Will appreciate some insight.

what is in ifconfig?

try doing:

sudo ndiwrapper -m
sudo ndiswrapper -ma
sudo ndiswrapper -mithen restart

I have to re install Heron after the ndiswrapper -xx thingy. That happen the first 3 times too. Must be compatibility problem with the latest kernel?!. Still same result not loading wlan0.
Thanks for the input.

you have to reinstall? That doesn't make sense... why would you have to reinstall?

Lock up @ configuring network interfaces. Multiple "failed' ndiwrapper messages.

I still appreciate your input though.

So remove ndiswrapper...

Done. No wlan0 just eth0.

Funny thing is my usb adapter will load and wlan0 will show in network. However the connection keep dropping. I guess thats another ndiswrapper quirk! Why isn't the 4328 driver loading the wlan0 module but the 2870 driver will load the wlan0?
