Has anyone tried the distance learning corses that are available for Linux/Ubuntu? Would you recommend them or do you think that there are better alternatives?

Here is one example that I found:

Thanks

Thanks for the info but I was looking for a more technical installation, setup and problem solving course, similiar to the LPI 101/102/201/202 variants.

A lot of people have been sucessful using the free IBM courses:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/lpi/index.html

They are being revised at the moment.

A lot of people have nice things to say about:

LPI Linux Certification in a Nutshell, Second Edition

Just make sure it is the second edition.

Has anybody done the Oreilly Course?:

Linux/Unix System Administration Certificate Series
