View Full Version : [ubuntu] 8.04 suspend and hibernate failures

May 1st, 2008, 11:51 AM

I have just installed ubuntu 8.04. Everything works fine, except the suspend and hibernating.

Turning laptop in these modes, system stops with message "shuting down console" for a long time. No reacts to buttons or to the lid open and closing.

Have no ideas what is the problem, in previous version of ubuntu 7.10 it worked perfectly.

My laptop is lenovo 3000 n100 mono (celeron m410, 1,5Gb RAM, 80 Hard, nVidia 945gm display, etc)

Please help if you have any ideas..
Thanks a lot.

I had those problems in Feisty and then they disappeared in Gutsy. I guess they re-surfaced in Hardy. I have HP tho. :(

Lot of reports of it here, all suggest a complex fix or just wait for the next kernel that should fix it 2.6.25
