i have a really old palm IIIxe. what has annoyed me is that the 'memo' software built-in the palm doesn't let me type so much things (4096 characters that is 4KB?), also i cannot read it using gedit. how can i read that MemoDB.pdb after sync? is there any palm text editor that can save the file as txt in the palm so that i can just copy it to my desktop and open it by gedit? thanks

try these 2 and see if they work on your palm.

I usually use Wordsmith and save them in .pdb format and then open them in Openffice myself but it costs the two above are freeware:

but the link you provided is "megamemo" not "wordsmith". i use openoffice writer to open .pdb and some strange char. appear on many pages.
edit: i google wordsmith and it cost 30USD!

That is why I posted the other one, sorry I should have mentioned that, my bad, the megamemo overcomes the 4k limit and the megaedit converts the files in to .rft format

I picked up my copy of wordsmith at an office store that was going out of business, cost me $5
