Menu delay different from screen 1 to screen 2

(8.04, 7800GT with two screens)

This is weird.

I noticed that as soon as I installed the nvidia drivers, the menu delay went to about 1 sec. (very annoying)

However, once the second screen was enabled, the menu delay dropped to little or nothing on the second screen, but remains slow on the first screen.

Would anyone know how I might fix this? I've tried a search for "menu delay" on these forums but came up with nothing relevant. I do remember seeing something somewhere relating to tweaking the delay times for the menus, but I can't remember where (and I have looked).
