Does Ubuntu 8.04 have NTFS read/write capabilities out of the 'box'?

As far as I know, it does.
I set up a raid for my storage drives, which are formatted ntfs, and as long as your fstab is set up correctly, it should work.

Yes I believe it does... or at least it's been working that way for me.

Should recognize any NTFS partitions you've got on your hard drive and stick them in the Places menu.

I am running it from the CD- and it appears to have written a test message. bbl in windows to verify

yes, as now ntfs3g is included by default in hardy.

Verified Documentation in the 'My Documents' Folder in windows Vista: SUCCESS!!!

This makes me very happy, cuz 7.04 gave me some issues.
