I'm running a plain vanilla install of Gutsy Ubuntu-desktop as a demo machine. I run Update manager with the automatic security option turned on and my system is kept up to date.
Update-manager is not displaying the "8.04 is available" message. I have reinstalled update-manager and update-manager-core.
(Update-manager is working correctly on my production machines.)
