View Full Version : [ubuntu] Dual Boot - Vista with RAID 1

Hello,

I currently have Vista installed on two RAID 1 200GB SATA hard drives. I attempted to install Ubuntu using Wubi so I could try Ubuntu out for a bit. I found the Live CD takes a bit too long to try Ubuntu out for a week or two and customise it the way I'd like to.

However, after installation my RAID was messed up. Ubuntu only installed on one of the two drives. I managed to rebuild the array and remove the MBR entry for Ubuntu.

Now I still want to try Ubuntu out and I'm willing to dual boot manually. Is this possible with my RAID setup (easily)? I've google around but most dual boot tutorials are for normal drive setups. I cannot find any for RAID setups. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Thanks. Didn't realise my motherboard had a fake RAID controller but I suppose that is the reason why I had issues with Wubi.

I'll give it a read.
