View Full Version : [ubuntu] Update to Hardy: "Authentication failed"

When I try to run the upgrade from the update manager, I get "Authenticating the upgrade failed. There may be a problem with the network or with the server." At first I thought it might just be high server traffic (since releases.ubuntu.com was out a couple days ago), but it's persisting and now does it almost instantly when pressing 'continue'. A quick Google search turned up nothing relevant to this upgrade (only stuff for upgrading from Edgy to Gutsy). Any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm having the exact same problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I have seen many posts regarding this problem with previous updates (edgy-feisty and even feisty-gutsy), and the only solution I saw was to run gpg once so it has a configfile. I tried this, but for the gutsy-hardy upgrade, it doesn't change anything. I still get this errormessage.
