View Full Version : [all variants] Syntax highlighting in VIM without vim-full

Does anyone know of a smaller VIM package than vim-full that will allow for syntax highlighting? Vim-full is a meta package that contains all kinds of packages that would only be necessary if one were running a window manager. Seems like using a canon to kill a fly.

I assume installing vim alone will do the trick.

apt-get install vim (should install vim-common)

yes, all you need is vim. i don't use the full and syntax works.
