I've just installed kubuntu on my pc and when I type the command: make, well, that's what happens:
bash: make: command not found
I've seen that I'm not the only one who has trouble with the make command and I've tried the most logical aproaches I've read but nothing seems to work, if anyone wants to help, he is welcome.

Install the package build-essential using the Synaptic package manager.

Actually I supposed internet was necessary to do it, so I went to a net cafe cause its kinda trouble to install my sagem modem on kubuntu, :/. I ran the commands there, but it did not work, obviously. Now Iv got only internet on another computer.

Can you install any packages at all using apt-get, or is it only build-essential that cannot be installed?
