View Full Version : [ubuntu] installation does not continue after 15%

i'm not a novice ubuntu user as i was using it the cafe but i'm new to installation..I went through all the steps almost correctly but during installation the process doesn't continue from 15%(detecting file systems) and the cd-drive & hard drive doesn't seem to work either....can anybody say me as to what is the problem??

do you get a live session what I mean is when you have the cd in your computer do you get to the livecd part?

make sure that the md5sum matches (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) burn the iso at x4 or less if you have not already, then check the cd for defects. Another thing you could try is the alternate cd

wen u boot the live cd u will find a check the cd for defects, anyway it's better to burn it again at x4 or less as Partyboi2 said

i do get a session & the md5sums are the same as that given in the community docs........i speculate that the partitioning isn't right...i wanted to install ubuntu in the d:/(FAT32) since i have winXP in the hda#1(C:\-FAT32) partition...i used the guided partitioning for this..
