Have installed Xubuntu 7.10 & it works great.

Question: Xubuntu only uses 31GiB of my 400Gib
HD, the rest is linux-swap of 360GiB.
How large does the swap file need to
be? I want to transfer the rest bact
to /dev/hde1/.
I have the Gparted LiveCD, but I'm not very good using it as yet.

Uh.
HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE TO GET A 360 GB SWAP??? xD

I'ts recoomended to have about 2 GBs if your HD is largen than... say 30 GB.
This acer uses about 2 GBs of swap and my Asus Eee uses about 500 MB but tha HD on the Eee is only 4 GB so it's not so very strange actually.

Swap doesn't have to be large at all... 2 GBs would be more than enough for you I think.

swap should be approx x2 the amount of ram you have onboard, so for 512 mb ram your swap would be 1 gig. In saying this you would probably not need no more then 2gig max.

Your answers satisfied me, my 'thread tools', on my Xubuntu 7.10 didn't have a 'solved' choice so I'm posting 'SOLVED', here.
