View Full Version : [ubuntu] how to recover deleted files? PLEASE HELP!!

So... i was deep in thought and deleted all my photo's !!

It's 6years of memories! right there!!

aNyOne have any idea's/ help please?

it's on a 250Gb seagate ntfs, in o/s Ubuntu 7.10 64 bit.

(currently looking into ntfsundelete.com ... i'll post as soon as i get something right)

Photorec can do it, but you have to stop using that HDD asap.

You can also use the "testdisk" utility available with the package with the same name.

important thing is, don't touch the drive (if not absolutely necessary).

phew... all done. yakata....

thankx 4 the help guys. yes, I just installed teskdisk from the package manager (after not knowing how to install the downloaded zip file i got.)

Nooooow.... How do I:

1. Mark this thread as solved (not avaliable in thread tools).
2. Recursively detele all files in the recovered folders greater than 400Mb, and copy out all the .jpg and .avi files to a single folder, etc...
