Update From 6.06 to 8.94

I upgraded one computer from 7.10 to 8.04 without any problems. I have another computer running 6.06 that I would like to update also.
What is the procedure? This computer is a dual boot with XP

I used the link to try to update from 6.06 to 8.04. I tried the listed information without success.

Unless I can find a workable process, I may have to keep 6.06 or do a fresh install to update to 8.04
