Box #1: Dell Optiplex 620, Pentium 4, Ubuntu Gutsy 64 bit Fresh install and no problems, BlahBlah- generic box_

Compiled stable kernel 2.6.25 released by Linus a week ago, to get rid of exuberances like Amateur Radio, SCSI, RAID and so forth. Worked splendidly-snappier math and desktop.
Q#1: Sunday upgrade worked fine per say - I see no generic kernel 2.6.24-16. Why? Only Kernels 2.6.22-14 & 2.6.25

And maybe it's a good thing.

Box#2 Sony Viao vgn-365 laptop.Generic Gutsy kernel 2.6.22-14 nonproblematical install(atheros is a rare exception-lol).
Upgrade to HH 8.04 - bug in kernel 24-16 leading to forceful(hardhttp://ubuntuforums.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif )reboot by user( [17.995602}: ec:acpi_ec_wait timeout,status-o) , into Gutsy kernel 2.6.22-14, which was left alone by UPGRADE.
Here is second positive note -- Atheros WiFicard is using native driver, http://ubuntuforums.org/images/smilies/guitar.gifI think.
LTS or not , SAMBA should work also.
Q#2: When you , guys are going to fix all thathttp://ubuntuforums.org/images/smilies/smiley-faces-75.gif ?
I believe that UBUNTU is a good direction, but don't go Microsoft on us Do it fedora way - postpone if you need to- we are fans , after all.
