ok i have been slaving over this for a long time. i have ruined 17 cd-r's now i need serious help people, i have cd burnerxp, and nero, people said i can use them to make this work. now how do i do this? please i need help someone

Make sure to check the md5sum of the downloaded iso:
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/iso

Nero should have an option "Burn image to disk", burn at a low speed(8x or less)...don't burn as data or a bootable cd.

If you have a good download (by checking the MD5) and the problem is with your CD burner, and if you cannot figure out how to make Nero burn an ISO image: Have a look at Alex Feinman's "ISO Recorder." It has few buttons to push, and thus fewer opportunities to go wrong.

One other thing: If you are at a public computer (such as at a college library), then the function you need may simply be disabled.
