View Full Version : [ubuntu] After upgrade booting to Windows hangs or reboots

I have my laptop set up to dual boot ubuntu and Windows XP. I had 7.10 installed for a couple of months and explored it but still used XP as main OS. After hearing 8.04 was released I booted into Ubuntu and after awhile decided to go ahead and upgrade from the update manager. Everything went well without a hitch or so I thought. I first noticed at grub loading there are duplicate options for loading ubuntu. After exploring ubuntu for a couple hours I decided to boot back into Windows. Now whenever I boot it will freeze up forcing me to shut the laptop down manually. Then if I attempt to boot again it brings up the options to boot safe mode, last known, normally, etc.. If I attempt to boot into safe mode it will start to load then restarts. Any help and advice to fix is grateful.
