Why is it whenever I turn on Ubuntu the computer just HAVE to show a list of hardware logs and file checks (text interface, black screen, "[OK]" on the sides (there's one "(fail)" in red). Is there a way to turn this off and/or am I having issues with hardware/software?

I don't have an answer for you, but I believe the shutdown and startup information is shown when an error occurs.

So I just reinstalled Ubuntu and migrated my files over (during install (after partitioning)) and that seems to fix all those messages during boot. This way I kept most of my files/programs intact.
