I know it would involve a corporation but that would be sweet if there were "ubuntu" or "ubuntu coffee" shops everywhere, and you could get all kinds of coffee! :)

agree?

If it was an Internet Cafe and a coffee shop...well that'd be even better :D

Give away the operating system, sell the beans?

...The perfect open source business model?

Could be big. BIG, I tell ya.

Sell beans to people which they put it into 'blender'. Then on a screen next to it type in

blender coffee-beans
People take the ground coffee over to the compile table containing milk, creamer, sugar, etc.

sh ./coffee
In restricted-extras section you can add nutmeg and cinnamon.

That would be quite a cool idea, an internet cafe which runs all its clients using ubuntu.

i'm sure someone's got that going on. as far as an ubuntu cafe with coffee and perhaps some pastries. BRING IT!

So, where would this be located? I say Hull, in the north-east of England. Possibly near to the bar Pave, so I can walk there :D

probably have it so when someone purchases something, the receipt has a code good for 1/2 or an hour of internet, whether it's wifi with their own laptop or via one of the internet kiosks.

Buenos Aires...

I can see it now: Ubuntu Internet Café.

There's a really good location just a block from where I live, with a train station (like a Go Train) and subway terminal about to be finished.

Why not franchise it and set it up all over the world at once?

I would start one here but I don't think it would make any money ever.

Celiac disease runs in my family, too. I've been blessed enough not to have it (I don't think, I've only gotten the 90% accuracy blood test) but several of my family members either have the full-blown disease or a major wheat allergy. Ever tried the Angel Food Cake mix from Gluten Free Pantry? It's amazing.

As for an Ubuntu Coffee shop, that would be cool to spread Ubuntu while drinking coffee at the same time.

Yes, it does.. and it also sounds African, which is where the name came from, and where the origin of all the crap my Windows friends give me lol..

The coffee would have to be fair trade of course. :-)

The more I think about it, I actually think it would be awesome to have Ubuntu cafés around the world.

(Starbucks is yucky anyway.)

man, what a "Grand Opening" that would be.

I would start one here but I don't think it would make any money ever.

If I started one I'd be my own worst customer. My coffee pot is going 24/7 now. And Argentinian coffee is a lot stronger then North American coffee.

That's a great idea. And for the cost of a CD or DVD, available in the store if you don't have your own with you, you could burn your own CD or DVD while drinking your coffee. All the ISO's would be on the server, no net traffic required.

Coffees:
Ubuntu Xfce Bean - a light roast
Ubuntu GNOME Bean - a medium roast
Ubuntu KDE Bean - dark roast

Teas:
Ubuntu Xfce Tea - a mild breakfast type tea
Ubuntu GNOME Tea - a classic type tea
Ubuntu KDE Tea - an Earl Grey Tea

Donuts and or other pastries (what's local to your area) could have Ubuntu type names as well. :)

Now if I only had the $$ to start one.
How does that song go ... oh yea;
"Dream a little dream for me ..."

Have a nice day.
