Some opinions please!

I have Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) running happily on an older desktop machine (P4 2.4GHz, 1.5GB RAM, on-board Intel graphics) and also on a newer laptop (Intel Centrino, Nvidia 7300, 1MB RAM).

I can't upgrade direct to Hardy anyway, but do you think it's worth doing a complete reinstall, or upgrading via Gutsy, or should I leave well alone?

Back up you present system for example like I do;

Install Hardy from fresh and see what it is like.

I think I'll wait a couple of months before attempting to do even a fresh install of 8.04. I ordered a CD and by the time I get it these issues I keep reading about will hopefully be solved.

All I'm going to say is either try the live cd first or install it to a different partition to test, because a good number of people have been having issues.

I have 4 Hardies clean installed; 32 bit and 64 bit. 2 from Alpha 6 and 2 from Beta. Updates have been flawless in all of them. 2 are in Core 2 Duo and 2 in Pentium 4 'Prescott', all with Nvidia cards. Not a problem so far. I now have Final Release in all of them. 4.000 FPS
