Ok here is my odd problem.
Upgraded ubuntu which suddenly removed my Vista part of my menu.lst grub file.
So I added the Vista part again and I tried booting in vista to see if it worked.
Vista booted and then suddenly during start-up, after entering password, turned the screen off, this looked to me as some kind of gfx card/driver error so I hard-booted to see if the problem persisted. And now I can't even get into grub as I just get an Error 17 now.
This makes no sense as error 17 normally occurs when something is wrong with the bios boot orders'
