Hello:
I followed Kubuntu 8.04 through the development cycle, but with KDE3. When the final was released, I reloaded my system with Kubuntu-KDE4 8.04.
Most things work okay except for suspend... there's just one issue that's still bothering me a lot.
I have a Toshiba P200-ST2061, which has Santa Rosa guts in it. And basically, any Gnome application that needs to make a sound does it through the system speaker, bypassing any volume control or sound system to do it.
I just want it to not beep at all. It beeps when I can't backspace anymore in IM windows, when search can't find anything in Firefox, etc, and it's very loud and jarring.
Is there a Gnome sound system sort of thing that I need to load up to fix it? I know PulseAudio is handling things for Gnome now, but Kubuntu doesn't yet support Pulse.
Thanks.
