Hello,

I have Windows Vista and whenever I burn the Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop ISO, it burns successfully but the CD is empty after the burning process.

I tried using Roxio CD Burner, Nero, Infra Recorder with Verify Data after burn option and still no luck.

The MD5Sum matches and I even downloaded the ISO from different mirrors but same result.

I even turned off Vista's UAC control.

Its a DVD-RW/CD-RW combo drive. I can successfully burn DVDs and music CDs but the ISO is giving me the trouble.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

That's strange. You can get a free CD from https://shipit.ubuntu.com/

Maybe a wrong disc ?!

And try using bittorrent for ISO, you will be sure to get a 100% good and usable ISO.

Hi. I'm having the same problem here only with Ubuntu 7.10 and trying to burn on WinXP pro. I've done it exactly to the letter as directed in that guide and tried it with 2 different brand new disks. InfraRecorder says it is burning but at the end the disk is empty. I am clueless.

Was wondering if the OP managed to work out how to fix the problem?

I found the problem: I was using an older version of Infra Recorder. So I installed the latest version and downloaded the ISO from Torrent sites.

Its working fine now.

Thanks to all.
