When I upgraded to Hardy Heron, a separate Firefox 2 - 32 bit installation stopped working. I was using it so that I could use the Java and flash plugins. It does look like Firefox 3 on Ubuntu has Flash working, but no Java. In any case, Firefox 2 cannot go to any web pages. It shrows the error page as if I have no network connection.

Also, I have a Logitech mouse with the side buttons. I have it correctly set up in my xorg.conf file to enable those buttons and Firefox recognized them as page back and page forward buttons. After the upgrade, this ceased to work.

Any clues?

This is for specifically desktop environment questions; you might do better posting in one of the other forums.

Aside from that, you'll need to provide more information than just a generic "it doesn't work". What does it do? Does it do anything? What packages do you have installed?

You could use btnx, but you have to compile it yourself.

The new version is rock solid and reliable.

I use it myself to get more functionality out of my Logitech mouse.

Olli just rewrote some of the software to fix a bug, so good to go in Hardy.

I'd given up trying to get my logitech mouse side-buttons doing anything in linux, and that works quite well.
