Earlier i made the switch from Ubuntu to DreamLinux and wow, what a difference. I miss Ubuntu ,it was a big part of me, i used it daily and a switch is, well, a switch. I feel a void.

DreamLinux is much faster at booting, lower system resources and generally better.
Has a Gnome control panel. Ubuntu didn't.
It has a backup utility you can do before updates that saves settings, genious!
Easy install features for codecs and some other decent apps.
and 74MB RAM usage standard at that.

Hmm reminds me of when Ubuntu used to be good. Back in 7.04 and before.

Well Ubuntu , it's been a nice ride.
But your too bloated, to me, your becoming the Vista of the Linux world.
Farewell. :guitar:

i really like dreamlinux also, it has a lot of innovative features, and had it installed on a second pc for a while. i would probably have switched if the heron had been a flop, but will stick with ubuntu for now!

Ubuntu does have the gnome cp, just its disabled in the menus.

Also I wouldnt call ubuntu bloated I'm only using 400mb of RAM with java, compiz, pidgin with 10 chats, awn, vlc, banshee, frostwire and 5 ff tabs open.I find that really good.

Why advertise something thats free?

Im giving my opinion, ive outgrown my Ubuntu shell and partially bored.

Everyone has an opinion, im sharing mine.
Ubuntu is a great stepping stone into the Linux world, but to me, that's all it will ever be.

Ubuntu is running very fast on my pc, so no need to change to another distro.

But I like the theme and icons in Dreamlinux, but I don't know what they are named - do you? I guess I will find them on gnome look if I had some names:)

Just downloaded Dream last night and tried it as a liveCD, looks promising.

Its the wonderful thing about Linux , so many distros. Mint is good and so is Suse and Dream looks up there with them.

I love Ubuntu and I would and have recommend it to others but man oh man its fun to look at other offerings.

Although dream linux is good, to me this post looks like a bit of advertizing :O

troll?! jesus christ. the guy's got 1800 posts and just because he has a differing opinion than yours he's a troll? get over it.

That all sounds really nice. Personally, one of the large factors in deciding what distro to go with was the health of the community, and that is something Ubuntu has a strong lead in.

@gnicko, grammar Nazism isn't needed ;)

You'll be back. You haven't even had time to find all the things you hate about DreamLinux yet. Give it some time you'll see.
