So I recently bought this new Compaq Presario f756nr, and after some difficulty, installed Ubuntu Hardy. My problem is that the wireless doesn't work (Im plugged into my router with an ethernet jack right now). My wireless card is an Atheros AR5007. Please put step by step instructions as I am very new to Linux.

Anybody know what to do here? I think I have to reinstall the drivers but I'm not quite sure how to do that.

For detailed help you'd need to provide the chipset for your wireless card. I've had experience with three Compaq's over the last year and all three have used Broadcom chipsets (not certain about your model though). If your's is a Broadcom see -> http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=769603

I think I have a "Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista".
