Hi
I downloaded both the livecd and alternate RC releases a few days ago but after selecting the language (English), selecting to install and the Loading box hitting 100%, the screen goes black, with a flashing cursor in the top left of the screen and totally freezes like never before. Even power cycling doesn't work and holding my finger on the power button for 5 seconds just puts the machine into a weird self restarting mode where if simply restarts every 6-8 seconds that I've never seen before! To clear this I had to physically remove the power cable and plug back in.
As I was using the RC edition I thought perhaps it was a last minute bug so waited and tried both the livecd and alternate versions today of the full release but had the same problems.
The live CD's boot OK in Vista and I've even installed the boot loader but nothing is helping.
Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.
