slow boot after upgrade to hardy

Hi

Since upgrading from gutsy to hardy the boot time on my machine has increased dramatically. I had the same problem when I first installed gutsy but was resolved by editing the boot file. I tried the same thing again but no luck. Also since the upgrade I can no longer apply visual effects. Help would be much appreciated!

You will need to be more specific. Which version, which hardware, where is Grub? Most users have no problem, so there's no way to help you unless the problem can be localized.

Turned out to be something to do with a network file at boot, so I removed it and the problem seems to be solved
