I upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04 and everything seems to be working well. Except if i close the lid of my Ibm r60 the video does not come back on the lcd. I adjusted settings to ensure that the setting state do nothing when the lid is closed on both AC or battery power. It does not matter if I am in fully at the desktop or the log in page. IF I close the lid I can not get video back.

Any ideas?? I am using it now but just can't close the lid.

If you have a screensaver, make sure the sliders are all the way to the right in Power Management. Also in laptops /swap should be equal to RAM.

I did check that. It does not seem to matter. When I close the lid in Ubuntu 8.04 the screen goes black and then will not come back up. But Ubuntu is still active I can hear the errors when I try to do something like pushing the enter key allot. I also have tried to see if I do a Fn F7 if switching LCD/Monitor modes like if I was using an projector or external monitor makes a difference and it does not.
