Ok, well spite all my mouse problems in fedora, I went back to it and I am using a wired mouse and so far this stuff is just working absolutely great. Nice and fast, snappy etc...I do have one question though, how do I get the icons off of my desktop? I heard somewhere that you use the gconf editor but where do I go to get to that to un-check the boxes? Sorry for sounding so noobish to linux but I've actually been using ubuntu since dapper, and somewhat new to fedora.

This is why I don't use GNOME. This thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-309740.html) should help...

Didn't help at all. Doesn't have what I need. I don't see an apps, nautilus etc... and I didn't see a thing about installing gconf editor.

Nevermind, I got gconf installed. I forgot it was yum install. Icons gone!
