Hi everyone.
I upgraded to 8.04 a yesterday, and bit the bullet and installed KDE4 too. It looks quite nice, but the dashboard doesn't seem to work as expected...
I see loads of desktop "icons", but all I seem to be able to do is open things. Of course, you are probably thinking "Well, what else would you want to do with them?". I have an XPI file and I would like to rename the extension to .zip, but there is no rename option in the right-click menu. I opened up my file manager and renamed it. Now I can't extract it without using my file manager, as again, there's no right click option.
Is there supposed to me some kind of new concept about how I am able to get things done? I don't want to have to open up my file manager every time I want to do something on my desktop. As the dashboard seems to be comprised of widgets, and no files actually exist, is there any way for me to keep KDE4 but lose the dashboard, or is the dashboard what KDE4 is all about?
Many thanks in advance.
