I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 with the Gnome desktop environment. I installed Amarok, a KDE media player, because it's good with my new iPod. After installing it, the open dialog of some programs (not all) now has different icons (KDE blue instead of Gnome orange). One program that's doing this is LyX. A program that's not is Firefox.
I'm fairly new to Linux...could someone let me know what's going on here, and what else I may have messed up, if anything?
