Installing ubuntu from a USB device

I have a USB pen drive, 1GB, that easily coveres the space requirements of the ubuntu livecd and installation data on the CD.

I want to put this data onto the pen drive, so that I can run the installation from the USB drive, instead of burning a CD.

Have any of you done this ?

I didn't find anything in a search of the forums, but still looking.
