Hi,

I would like to use AES-XTS instead of AES-CBC-Essiv which is automatically used during Alternate Installation Procedure when you chose to encrypt your root-partition.

Where on the CD is the command stored which initializes the encryption as AES-CBC ESSIV? So I could change it to use the "better" XTS-mode? Or is there maybe a command-line option to use XTS instead?

Thank you!

Check these manual steps to install 8.04 on an AES-XTS root filesystem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244480

I want to do exactly that with Intrepid or Jaunty. Since I have zero experience with XTS or manual encryption, does anyone know of steps like the above that would apply to either Intrepid of Jaunty?
