Well, I am a long time unix fan, but this will be the first time I install a linux kernel. I want to run a web-server off of an old B&W G3, Rev_1, 350 MHz, 256 Meg's of ram. Ya, its going to be for very small usage. I need mySQL, php, apache, phpMyAdmin, ftp, and vnc. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it! Thanks.

I think you want a PPC server version, which contains the lamp-stack and does some of the heavy lifting for you when installing that server software.

I forgot where it is in the current repo's, but I've seen it for Dapper 6.06, Feisty 7.04, and Hardy 8.04..

dapper drake have a PPC version
and it will be supported for servers for another 3 years If I remember correctly
ubuntu team has been fixing dapper's bugs since 2006 so it should be quite stable for a server system
