Tis my Distro's site. Now, now. I have to choose a forum.
My choices:
Phpbb3
PunBB
SMF
myBB

Which should I use? Which is best? GIve a non biased good opinion thats valid.

I've always liked PunBB and SMF -- PunBB if you need a no-nonsense board without a lot of unnecessary features, and SMF if you want the full board experience.

Those are my two favorites. It is for a support/talk forum for my Linux Distro, so which do you think now?

I usually stick with SMF, since I'm used to it. So I'd recommend it, but I guess I'm a bit biased.

I am VERY Intrested in PunBB and will probablly use it, but how does it install "plug-ins" and mods, does it work like SMF??? Or Phpbb3 in installation of mods?

I've used PhpBB before :) it wasn't too bad.

Also just so you know - these forums run vBulletin :)

I have used both phpBB and SMF before and I found phpBB much easier to administrate and use.

I started off using phpbb2 when I was ten, it was the first. Punbb this year, and SMF last. SMF is very, very easy, but I like punBB's way.

i understand that this site is beta, but there's not much excuse for the grammatical errors on the home page. you still want to seem professional. good luck with the distro though.

You have many Grammar errors, in your post, shall I point them out?
Just Kidding its cool, I did it at midnight and was extremely tired, I will just have someone point out them later, I do not have time for corrections.

vbulletin is the best, but the most expensive one. I recommend using phpBB.

If you want to have a look at these in action, PhpBB is used on the Zenwalk Forums (http://support.zenwalk.org/) and PunBB on the Arch Forums (http://bbs.archlinux.org/).

you can if you want, but forum posts are as informal as personal emails, so i couldn't care less. i was merely giving constructive criticism.

You should use SMF because it's very easy to add mods and themes.

Used phpBB before but its not as functional as SMF.

Free? phpBB, end of story. Every forum I ever ran used it, and I never ran into any problems.

Of course, if you want to spring a few bucks, vBulletin is fantastic, as is Invision.

I said I thank you. I knew it and I will have to fix it I guess.
I might have come off wrong to you.

@ Cardinals_fan
I have use both, I have used over 6 forum platforms. I just was wondering which I should use. I was going to use SMF, but it has not been working for me as of late. SO unless I get SMF to work, it looks like phpbb3.

I love IPB and vBull, but being 13, as stated before, I cannot really buy them...
