Last used Ubuntu Desktop 7.10 64 bit, wireless connection functioned fine.

During install of Ubuntu Studio 8.04 64 bit, could not activate wireless within the Debian installer.

After finishing the install, and going to "Network" I can see the Wireless as a choice, but not pick up any Wifi networks.

Also, I do not see the Gnome-Network-Manager in the Notifaction Pannel.

I tried installing Wicd (http://wicd.sf.net) as an alternative to Gnome-Network-Manager, but Wicd was also not able to pick up any Wifi networks.

These issues are strange, because I had no issue detecting Wifi networks prior to this install.

So far I have tried
Restarting my router
Installing the Wicd alternative
Rebooting several times. (before and after installing Wicd)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Same exact issue in the official 64 bit release of 8.04 Ubuntu.
