I/O error on install

I am having a problem installing Ubuntu on my computer. I get to about 17% and I get an I/O error. My DVD drive is new (only a couple months old) and I have run a lens cleaner through it as well. Any other ideas why I can't get ubuntu to install?

Have you checked the disk for errors? Also you should run the md5 hash check on the iso you downloaded.
