I have been using ubuntu exclusively on my dell c400 for over a year now. The only to install is through pxe due to not having any optical drives or usb boot options. the only problem is i must install 6.06 first, then 6.10, 7.04 then to 7.10. not sure, but i think all the different versions are on my rather small 20gig hd. With 6.06 ending, Can somebody change the pxe install option to 7.10 or 8.04? i would like to regain some of my hd space back. a larger hd is in the works, just not right now.
or if at all possible give me a itemized todo list how to install using 1 of my other ubuntu boxes cd roms through home network? thanks. Dave

You might not want to install 8.04 on your C400 just yet, been reports of lock up with 8.04 on this machine. It seems that 7.10 works fine for the C400. If you have second machine you can set up a PXE server, check this how to out. I think I will do this for my C400 also incase my external CD breaks.
