Hey Guys,
I have an old VIA Nehemiah Notebook Computer (1.20GHz, 480MB RAM/32MB Shared video RAM).
Running Windows XP SP2.
And I installed the new Ubuntu 8.04 x86 using the new integrated Wubi-method.
When I now choose "Ubuntu" in the Windows-BootLoader's list,
it starts with that Ubuntu splash screen, a orange bar moving from left to right and back.
I have to mention my display's native resolution is 1024x768, and it can't display any higher.
Then, the bar starts filling from left to the right, and when it finishes, my screen blinks once and seems to switch the resolution...into Nothing!
It stays black. I tried pressing "fn" + a "Recognize displays"-Function-Key on my notebook's keyboard.
Then something appears: Like there must be text scrolling down, but all you see is green and other colored squares runnig down the screen, until it suddenly stops.
And now? I still have those squares on my screen and can't get anything to work.
When I press the "Power"-button then once,
Ubuntu seems to be shutting down properly, as the squares are scrolling down the display again, then, suddenly, I can make out the Ubuntu splash screen again, but totally misplaced and it's colors spread and messed up.
Then, my computer shuts down.
Any solution for getting the graphics to work properly?
Thanks
