i downloaded the iso image via ktorrent and writed on a CD.
i boot my pc from the cd .
First it writes" isolinux 3.53 debian ...H.Peter Anvin"
isolinux : Disk error 10,AX = 4200, drive EF

boot failed : press a key to retry"

please help. because i suffered with downloading the iso i dowload it yesterday 4 times and didn't continue the download for that i download it vi ktorrent

Did you check the CD had no defects (it should be on the menu presented when you boot from the CD :))

the pc can't boot from the cd so i didn't get the menu .

Did you verify the iso download by checking the md5sum?:
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/iso
The iso has to be burned as an "image", not as a data or bootable cd, and burn at 8x or less.

I assume your pc is capable of booting from cd, just not the Ubuntu cd you burned.

Added: The md5sum should be correct, since you used ktorrent, but it still may not hurt to check. I think there is an option in ktorrent to verify the integrity of the downloaded iso.

i tested its intergrity, no errors or problems.
right click on the image and clicked write to disc ,but now i changed the write speed to 7x.in the first time it was 52x and it didn't take more than 1 minute.this could be the problem.
so now i will wait to finish writing, and then i'll keep you all updated.

hey there,i checked it up, it's not defected, it was the writing speed problem.till now everything is working fine, i boot the pc from hardy live cd and now i'm going to install it.
confused37 was right,it was the write speed

yihuuuuu, the heron is flying. finally i installed it and it works like a charm.
thank you everybody for the support and everybody who was seeding the torrent.
The problem was the writing speed which should be less than 8x like confused57 said.thank you.
i'm going to upload the torrent

how to mark the thread as solved :D ?
