Few hours ago I installed Kubuntu 8.04 KDE 4.0.
Only one not very normal thing I done that I used my old unformatted /home partition.

But then I booted into my new installation I failed to login.
To be sure that password is right I tried to input wrong password then is showed that password is wrong. And then password is right screen just blinks into same empty login.

I clicked Ctrl+alt+F1 later and logged in into terminal.

But is is not fun to have terminal-only system now. How i can fix that Login?

Have you tried chmod -R username.username /home/username?

Same thing has happened to me.
I can drop into terminal mode and login without problems. I can even run kde from the sudo in terminal. I have added user accounts with other names and they work, but not the original account (the one with all my apps).
Any ideas?
