actually all my problems would go away if mono wasnt here in the first place.

fspot hangs every time it runs. and its slow too. too bad there isnt a descent photo manager for gnome to take its place.

Mono is a C# interpreter for Linux I believe :)

And the first thing I do is remove Ekiga...I've never found any need for it. I don't know what app's need mono to run, I don't think there's many

I've heard of C# and seen books for it. I know C, C++, and Objective C, but I'm not sure what C# is.

I think you are thinking of D♭.

It's one and same note, all dependent on which musical scale you are using. For example, the D♭ diminished would write: D♭, E♭, E, F♯, G, A, B♭, C, D♭
While the B(H) diminished would be: B, C♯, D, E, F, G, A♭, A♯, B.

Okay, my bad. It's a common mistake to believe that there's a tonal difference between A♯ and B♭ (or similar). It's only important when speaking of musical theory. And: an F♭ is a normal notation of an E...

There is no single command to do this. What I did was open synaptic and search for mono. Arrange it in the order of install packages and marked them all as "Marked for complete removal" that has anything to do with mono.

I did that but I noticed that gedit came up in the list. I rather like gedit. I use it as my default editor. I wasn't sure if that was actually linked to mono or it had somehow stumbled onto the list.

Also, python is in the list. I'd rather like to learn python.

With all do of respect, vb.net isn't as bad as people think it is. It has allot of limitation's but depending from situation to situation, VB.net can do the job faster then any program language. Same count for c++ and c#. In the end there isn't an ultimate program language.
