View Full Version : [gnome] Gnome acting weird after 8.04 upgrade

I'm having an issue where when I log in, the icons and panel bars will randomly switch back to the generic (old) gnome icons, including all panel icons and the panel look itself, and all desktop icons and window title bars. After a few seconds it goes back to the current theme. It does this pretty much anytime I'm loading an app, moving a window, you name it.

I tried completely reseting gnome preferences for my user account, but it's still doing it. I just updated to 8.04 from 7.10 and I'm guessing one of the config files has gotten messed up.

I'd almost guess that it's the theme crashing then restarting and crashing again. Is there any log or something similar where I could see if that was happening? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

So I've narrowed down the problem. Since this is a headless file server, I tried it at the main terminal and the problem wasn't happening. So, it only happens through VNC when I am connecting to the computer remotely. Anyone have any thought or ideas?
