Just managed to install feisty to my eeepc 2g surf after several failed attempts.

Problem is that now I don't seem to have a network connection set up. Not wired or wireless.

Any ideas how to set one up, or get and install drivers without an internet connection on the machine?

Cheers.

I assume you used a usb stick to install Gutsy, possibly starting from a live session?

Now, at install time, were you connected (wired) to the Internet? If not, that might be why it failed. I had the same problem and I found no other workaround than reinstalling.

Wifi is a little tricky, you'll have to follow closely a tutorial like http://wiki.eeeuser.com/ubuntu

There are also some post-install fixes, but I can guarantee you that it will work eventually.

Best of luck - Daniel

Installed feisty from an alternate version via external CD drive. Ethernet was connected throughout. Plan was to upgrade to hardy after install.
