direct 7.04 to 8.04?

Sorry if this is a FAQ, there is lots of information about upgrading from 7.10 or even the last LTS version. But I can't find any reference to direct upgrade from 7.04 (fiesty) to 8.04?

I had really bad luck with 7.10 on my Lenovo T60, so I just stayed with 7.04.

Does a direct 7.04 to 8.04 upgrade work transparently?
Or do I need to do 7.04 to 7.10 first, and then to 8.04?
