I know one time i was looking at screen shots for hardy and the theme was like dark blue/black, and transparent.

Any ideas anyone?

Are you sure you weren't looking at the KDE4 Kubuntu Hardy screenshots?

There are hundreds of themes available for Emerald. With the rare excption of really high profile themes like Human and Mac4Lin, most people aren't going to be able to give the name of a theme. How ever if you want to wade through the masses, you can take a look at:

That sounds almost like an Emerald theme using Compiz-fusion. I use the tru glass engine in the emerald themer, for similar results. apt-get compiz-config-settings-manager, then emerald, then activate emerald with emerald --replace. I think that last command is right not sure though. Crank up the compiz effects and enjoy.
