Finally got Kubuntu installed from the alternative CD...

But here's a new problem. When it was booting for the first time, the progress indicator got about 1/8 the way across, and the system locked up.

Any ideas on why that would happen?

Please help!

Thanks in advance!

Think I found the problem!

I have a Linksys WMP11 v2.7 wireless card installed.

I booted into recovery mode, and it started listing out the hardware installed on my computer. Once it got to the wireless card, it locked up.

Once I took out the card, the computer booted up perfectly!!!

If I had not tried that, I would have never guessed that card would have been the whole problem. I think I've tried loading my system at least 10 times!

Thanks everybody for all the help I've gotten in the last two days!

Take care
